在雜誌中看到一個句子，
Over time, major changes in migration routes took place,
cutting off the salmon's typical paths back to the ocean.
Since then, they have survived as best they could.
在最後一個句子中，有省略掉其他字嗎？
我自己是這樣想Since then, they have survived as best as they could.
省略掉第二個as，
但是自己又有點疑惑，as...as 的句型可以這樣省掉嗎？
可否請高手解答一下，
