在今天以前，我一直相信以前老師教給我的
S1 insist that S2 (should) VR~~ (當S1≠S2時)
亦即當S1≠ S2時，should可省略，即便省略，其後動詞永遠用原型，
直到今天我心血來潮在翻詞典玩的時候，才發現其實不完全正確，
這條規則必須做適度的限縮，論證如下：
起因於看到有人問
I insist that he is right.
I insist that he be right.
這兩個句子哪個對
我個人覺得
I insist that he is right. (○)
I insist that he be right. (×)
「當S1≠S2時，因should可省略而其後永遠VR」的文法規則必須做適度修正。
在詞典裡，insist可以分成兩個意思，以下這裡採用朗文的定義：

1. to say firmly and often that something is true, especially when other
people think it may not be true→堅稱某事
2. to demand that something should happen → 堅持某人/某事應怎麼做
以下例句在1裡面的就表示符合上述定義1，在2裡面就表示符合上述定義2

朗文和Merriam-Webster's並不是名不見經傳的詞典，
在這點文法上英美兩大詞典顯然有一致共識，是以綜上所述，
文法規則當修正成
「insist子句S1≠S2時，因should可省略而其後永遠VR
僅適用於"堅持某人/某事應該怎麼做"，而不適用於"堅稱"」
其實當初老師教我們的時候，是教了一串類似的動詞都有這樣的用法
包括命賤要堅等(命令、建議、要求、堅持)，我僅因為一時興起而去查了insist，
就有了規則外，不曉得隱藏在其他類似動詞的「規則外」還有多少....
