[高中] as ... as not 的用法

請各位大大們幫我暸解一下下面的句子

A natural disaster is almost always lethal and cruel.  Yet its very

randomness, at least, that you can have as good a chance of escaping it

as not --- so long as you're lucky.

在上文中  第二句的 as ... ... as not 該如何解釋呢

因為我找字典上的用法

as ... as ...似乎都沒有放在句尾的

可以解釋一下嗎?

→ initialdream:at least, that you ... ...
推 funchild:應該是: 你可以有好的機會可以避免,你也可能沒這樣的機會
→ funchild:這是很隨機的, 而as...as not是指有這樣的機會與沒有這樣
→ funchild:的機會是一樣的,not 後面應該省略了good chance of...
