讓我突然想到我媽最近跑去報名地球村的原因是

話說唸TESOL都會提到一個很有名不過有點outdated的研究
就是GLL (Good Language Learners)
H.D. Brown 的 Teaching by Principles 花了一整章
Lightbawn & Spada 的 How Languages Are Learned 也花了一整章描述 GLL
原諒我懶惰所以直接從網路上找來copy and paste:
GLL--
They take and create opportunities to use the language
They practice what they have just acquired
They are willing to try anything in order to get their message across
They are willing to live with uncertainty
They monitor their own speech as well as the speech of others
They are constantly looking for patterns in the language
They are a systematic organizer
They are willing to experiment with different learning methods
They make errors work
They are a friendly initiator of conversation

我想雖然我不認為這完全能夠掌握學習語言的態度
不過我可能多少還是會提一下所謂GLL
Bottom line 是
我會希望我的學生現在是 English Language Learner
但是他們學英文的目標是變成 English Language Speaker / User
期待有一天，不管他們的文法、發音、或單字如何，
他們只在意他們是否把想表達的意思表達出來，
譬如說要談生意，要寫好英文報告，要提出好的proposal
說實在話，只要意思表達妥當，把我們腦袋裡的東西表達清楚，
Native English Speakers 只看我們是否流利的使用這個語言，
不那麼挑剔文法或其他東西，
最挑剔的通常應該是讀英文出身的，還有一群non-native speakers 吧！
所以鼓勵學生多聽多讀多寫多說，並提供管道讓他們練習，
大概會是我的重點吧。
突然覺得我寫了一篇廢話........... = =
