In my opinion, I think it would be better if the universities require
students only to specialize in one subjuect. First, after the junior high
school and high school, the knowledge and the common sense which students
acquired are enough for them to use in daily lives. Therefore, it is
unnecessary to spend more time on other subjects which they are not
interested in.
Second, the studies in the universities will be more difficult and more
time consuming. Because it is hard to concertrate on the studies when you
have to take different classes simultaneously, it would be better for the
normal students to specialize only one subject.
For example, my brother went to an university which asked the students to
take classes in many different subjects. He had to go to the class which
he was totally not interested in and always felt asleep during the class.
He could't learn anything from the class, however, he still had to pay
the tuition of that class.
From the resons I mentioned aboved, I prefer the universities require
students to specilize in one subject. Since the students can just take the
class which they are most interested in, and be more concertrate on the
subject, it would be more effective and more effecient for their studies.
What's more, it is also a great way for the universities to get a good
reputation.
