[dwings (夜空的精靈)]

2.Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Children should begin
 learning a foreign language as soon as they start school. Use specific reasons
 and examples to support your position.

I support that children can learn a foreign language as soon as they start
school. We now live in a global village. It becomes more and more important
that people have to perceive and receive information internationally.
Considering the social atmosphere, it is a high time to encourage children to
learn a foreign language.

Although someone argues that learning a foreign language too early might reduce
 the time to learn basic subjects and increase the pressure of learning, I
think there would be no question if parents do some homework. The ways of
teaching do impact the desire to learn for children. However, children have
few loads to learn basic academic subjects when they start school. Moreover,
now many of foreign language centers have complete systems for children to
create an environment of speaking and learning naturally. Children will
expose to educational opportunities more easily in the centers than just at
home. Therefore, if parents choose a good learning center for their children,
the children not only have no pressure, but more motivations to learn another
language in early age.

In addition, personal language ability has become a key successful factor to
a better future. A competitive person has to communicate and interact with
others from different countries to catch the trend of the world. Therefore,
children should be familiar to foreign world to own international views, and
language is a tool to access to the global village. Studies shows that children
 enrolled high-quality foreign language education would develop social
advantages over the children just raised by their parents. Consequently, I
agree that it is better for children to learn a foreign language early in
the school.

To sum up, learning a foreign language for children is good for them as soon
as they start school. Although there are some problems, such as reducing time
to learning basic knowledge, it do brings more benefits than harms. As long
as the way of teaching is proper, children will have more capability to
better future.
