I disagree with this assertion. Some parents might be good teachers for
their children, but the best teacher for children is considered as the whole
world, especially the human society.
More and more parents have no time to teach their children on their own.
In the past, most women were housewives and take almost the whole
responsibility to educate their children. However, in this competitive modern
society, they need to work as their husband to earn enough money for living.
Modern parents spend more time on making money and few of them have the energy
to teach their children after work.
Some parents might have free time to teach their children, but everyone in
the world has limited knowledge and ability. Even the well-educated people
might give their children wrong information and concepts. For example, Chinese
parents often over emphasize on the academic success but ignore other
important parts which are also necessary to achieve a healthy life, such as
moral education and relationship with others etc. It's also difficult to
teach such things at home. Interacting with the world and learning from the
experiences,even the frustrations, is the best method.
Parents' lesson is an important part of education for children, but I
think children must learn from everything in the world to be well-minded.
It's the best teacher for them.
