The number of students failing to finish
courses varies widely - and there are divided
opinions over how they should be interpreted.
Student union leaders say they are a measure
of student hardship, with students unable to
afford to stay at university. But university
chiefs say the figures compare favourably with
other countries.
The table shows the percentage of students
dropping-out and includes a "benchmark" - a
weighted figure for what the funding council
believes the university should be achieving.
