El Matador Joins River On Loan
07/17/2003. Argentine news agency Noticias Argentinas announced that
Juventus agreed to loan out striker Marcelo Salas to giants River Plate
for one season.
This decision on behalf of the Bianconero management finally puts an end
to the transfer saga involving the Chilean star.
For Salas this means a return to the side that made him famous throughout
the world, and a chance to return to his better levels of form.
Reports from Italy suggest Lazio's former Matador will earn $550,000 for
his River stay instead of the $3.5 million he was getting from the Serie
A champs.
