Barcelona Sporting Club was founded the 1 of May of 1925 on Guayaquil.
His first President was Mr. Carlos Garci'a Rivers, Ecuadorian, and first
President Honorario Mr. Onofre Castells, Spanish of the region of
Catalonia. The name of Barcelona was put by the young people of the
District of the Shipyard in gratefulness to the support that Catalan
immigrants gave to the club in their beginnings.
The initial colors of Barcelona were: black t-shirt with alive targets,
white trousers and average blacks. The equipment gained the ascent to first
division the same year of its foundation. In 1927 the change of colors of
the uniform became: red yellow t-shirt and to vertical rays, red trousers
and averages. During some years the club participated in baseball, box,
athletics and cycling, obtaining several titles, but in soccer just
obtained its first championship of first division in 1960, last year of the
amateurismo. At that time its uniform alive era of yellow shirt with red,
trousers and black averages, that with certain variants stay until now
