Pekerman says goodbye to the National Teams
The Day Jose Left
After eight years of having worked for the development of Argentine
football, the triple World champion coach with the U-20 has given up
his job.
"since the day I arrived, our goal was to build and plan. We always
sought sports achievements following those two guidelines, but we also
tried to keep a structure that can prevail in time and provide a place
for development. Therefore, I’m deeply satisfied, because while man
things have been resolved and there is a sound base, there is also a
lot to improve”.
Eight years have elapsed since he arrived to work with the Youth National
Teams, and the 3rd of October was the date that Jose Nestor Pekerman chose
for his formal parting.
The same premises of Ezeiza(埃塞伊薩..阿根廷國家隊訓練基地) where he
shared his knowledge and contributedwith his daily effort to the
development of young players was the place chosen by the most successful
coach of the U-20 National Team to express his intention of having a break
from National Team-related activities.
"these were eight years of continuous work and intense commitments which
left me completely exhausted," said Pekerman as he explained the reason
for leaving, and added: "however, I'm grateful for the support of the
managers, especially from the President of the AFA, Julio Grondona”.
With his will, sacrifice and passion, the Youth National Teams recovered
their prestige, not only thanks to their achievements but also due to their
proper behaviour - they sported our traditional blue and white stripes. And
Pekerman is highly responsible for this, because it was him who roamed
around the country in pursue of the talented people who are now shining in
Argentine football and in the European Premiere Leagues. Even during the
last four years, he organized the work of all Argentine Teams in his
capacity as General Manager so that each professional would concentrate
on their specific activity, which will sooner or later translated into new
sports achievements.
Pekerman has gone. He was happy and had the availability he has always
shown: "I have always had the same dreams and goals to help Argentine
football and be useful, as I intended to be so from my very first day hereꄊ ."
