the Saudi Arabian football scene:
World Cup 2002 Argentinian striker Claudio Caniggia is topping the shortlist
of foreign imports as Al-Ittihad of Jeddah are close to announce their
two-foreign outfits for next season.
Club president Hassan Jamjoum created havoc in he ranks of Al-Ittihad ardent
supporters when he revealed on Friday "Brazilian striker Ricardo Sergio will
be moving to Al-Arabi FC of Qatar," depriving his side from any foreign
player in the upcoming inauguration Faysal Bin-Fahad competition.
"We are focusing our efforts on the league championship, the most preferred
competition we are working hard to retain next season," conformed Mr. Jamjoum
to daily paper Al-Hayat on Sunday.
"Two of the most entertaining and experienced strikers will be retained by
Al-Ittihad FC for next term, and I am not going to unveil their names.
"Talks are currently undergone with both of them, we must ensure secrecy of
to gain a positive outcome in this respect," concluded the club president.
