Spent a period on loan at Napoli before heading back to Estudiantes in the
middle of 2000. He scored five goals in the Clausura 2001 for them. Played at
the 1999 World Youth Cup where he scored a goal. He made his international
debut against Mexico in December 2000, scoring a goal. Moved from Estudiantes
to Real Zaragoze in Spain for ￡3.3m for another attempt for success in Europe
