Julio Hernan Rossi is a prolific forward who is comfortable playing alongside
or just behind a main striker. Rossi arrived at FC Basel at the start of the
2002/03 season and quickly rekindled his successful partnership with fellow
Argentinian forward Christian Gimenez, whom he had played alongside at
FC Lugano. The former CA River Plate striker scored 49 league goals in four
seasons with Lugano, and was immediately back amongst the goals at his new club
at the start of the 2002/03 campaign.
An unselfish player, Rossi is an adept passer of the ball and equally happy to
assume the role of provider.
