在日前槍手出價"8.5m -- 3m"被賽維亞拒絕後
看來槍手可能沒法在季初簽到Baptista
原因是他過去十八月內沒有出場滿75%所有的巴西國家隊比賽場次
就算簽了他，槍手很可能會無法替這巴西人請到工作證
不過，Baptista今年十二月就可以拿到歐盟籍，理由不清楚
到時槍手就可以簽他了，不過同時其他西甲球會也會想搶他
野獸已經在賽維亞效力兩季
而且野獸雖然再次拒絕與賽維亞續約，且他現在合約到2008年
但是因為西班牙的契約法有一條特別的法律
就是當球員在一個隊效力滿三季後
即使該球會在簽約時已用buy-out clause綁住該球員
三個賽季後法庭可以仲裁重擬一個新的buy-out fee(價錢會比較低)
所以賽維亞如果現在不賣，下一季結束後
如果該隊要賣野獸價錢就沒那麼好了，且合約也只剩兩年
就看槍手會怎麼做了
還有，如果賽維亞硬要藉Baptista從槍手身上敲個7-3-7
我是覺得不可能，以Bap現在的合約狀況與拒絕續約的姿態看來
槍手在談判上並沒居弱勢，不會讓賽維亞有機會賺到高達17m的轉會費

Arsenal target Baptista likely to stay in Spain

Arsenal's attempts to sign the Seville striker Julio Baptista have hit a
stumbling block. Despite bidding €12m (￡8.5m), plus €3m (￡2m) dependent
on appearances for the 23-year-old Brazilian, it is understood to be highly
unlikely that he can secure the work permit he would need to move to Highbury.
In recent weeks the Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger flew to Sao Paolo to meet
Baptista while the vice-chairman David Dein has been in Spain to negotiate
the transfer. But Baptista, a powerful striker who has scored 50 goals for
Seville, does not have the qualifications necessary for him to move to
England.
He has just 11 caps for Brazil but it had been thought that because of their
ranking in world football he would qualify for a permit. The player's camp
now believe that is not likely.
The situation will change in December, when he qualifies for Spanish, and
therefore European Union, citizenship and it may be that Arsenal will be able
to move for the player in the January transfer window or next summer.
However, they are likely to face stiff competition as both Barcelona and Real
Madrid are also tracking the player and he is believed to favour remaining in
Spain.
The developments will come as a blow to Arsenal especially as Seville,
despite rejecting their initial offer, describing it as "derisory", know that
Baptista - a converted midfielder who joined two years ago from Sao Paolo -
is refusing to sign a contract extension. He is currently tied to the club
until 2008 but contractual law in Spain states that players can negotiate a
move once they have completed three seasons at a club with a fee being set by
a tribunal. That means that Seville could lose him in 12 months' time for a
considerably lower fee than they could recoup this summer. They have already
signed another Brazilian, Luis Fabiano, as his replacement.
It is believed Arsenal themselves may receive an unwanted approach this week.
Juventus are considering following up their public declaration of interest in
Patrick Vieira with an offer of €20m (￡14m). That will, undoubtedly, be
immediately and decisively dismissed by Arsenal, even if Juventus are
understood to regard it as a fair price for a player who is 28 and who is
out-of-contract in two years' time.
Another Arsenal midfielder, David Bentley, has been told to report back for
pre-season training following his season-long loan with Norwich City.
