Former Arsenal trialist Philippe Christanval claims defender Sol Campbell
has asked for a transfer away from Highbury.

Christanval, who had a two-week trial with the Gunners this summer, believes
there could be room for him in the Arsenal defence if Campbell leaves.

"Sol asked to leave," said the 26-year-old former Marseille defender.

"He has not received any concrete offers as far as I know but the market
is not over

Christanval, who was released by Marseille in June, claims he was told by
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger that he would only sign him if one the central
defenders currently at the club were sold.
