Former Arsenal utility midfielder Remi Garde has backed Bordeaux’s Marouane
Chamakh to be a big hit under Arsene Wenger stewardship and made clear that
the Moroccan international is ready for a move to the Premier League after
securing his reputation in France as one of Ligue 1’s best players.
前槍手中場Remi Garde替Chamakh背書，表示如在未來成為槍手將成為教授陣容一
個有力的推進。這位摩洛哥國腳在法甲確立自己頂尖球星的名聲之後，等於替自己
在前進英超前作好了準備。
Sport.co.uk broke the news in February that Chamakh has signed a pre-contract
agreement to join Arsenal with his contract at Bordeaux ending this summer. A
prized asset for Laurent Blanc’s side, the 26-year-old helped les Girondins
to the domestic title last term while spearheading the attack this year as
they look to retain their crown and further advance in the Champions League.

Speaking to goal.com, Garde, who is now head coach at Lyon’s Youth Academy,
made clear that Chamakh was a perfect fit for Arsenal:

“Chamakh is one of the five best players in Ligue Un. So if he goes to
Arsenal, I can imagine he’ll be a very good player for the team.

“He’s very tall, strong and has a good fighting spirit. He runs a lot and
technically is very good. He is also a fantastic header of the ball.

“Because he’s been playing in the Champions League for the last two seasons
it won’t take him too long to adjust to the demands of the English game.

“If he has an area in which he needs to raise his game it’s his efficiency
in front of goal. Sometimes his technical ability in the last 20 metres
needs to be improved.

“He’s already a French champion with Bordeaux so for him it’s probably
time to leave France. And from France, Arsenal are one of the clubs players

Arsenal have yet to confirm the signing of Chamakh although an announcement
is expected as soon as the player’s duties are completed at the Stade Chaban
Delmas.
