Premiership champions Arsenal fear that Gael Clichy will not play again this
season.
The talented French starlet has impressed in a series of cameo appearances
this term and appears to be a ready made replacement for Ashley Cole, should
the England man join Chelsea in the summer.
In recent weeks Clichy has been given opportunity to impress and at times has
worked in tandem with Cole, controlling The Gunners' left side.
However, his spell in Arsene Wenger's first team now appears to have been
curtailed through injury.
Clichy damaged a bone in his foot in training on Friday and could now
reluctantly be forced to the sidelines.
Although Arsenal have all but conceded the title to North London rivals
Chelsea, this latest blow will further disappoint Wenger in what has
ultimately proved a frustrating campaign.
