溫格又說話了
他希望以隊中位置的保證來吸引 Gallas
但是薪水就沒辦法想他現在領的￡70,000那麼多
因為槍手有薪資上限，而在切爾西隊中沒有這種東西
"We have not spoken to the player [Gallas] yet," said Wenger. "You need to
agree personal terms. We have a salary cap here and he comes from a club
where there is no salary cap. So I don't know if it's possible to agree
personal terms, and if it's possible to agree with Chelsea. If he comes
here, frankly, he will have to come for less money."
加拉拒絕切爾西提出的週薪￡70,000新合約 (甚至可能提高到￡80,000-90,000)
可能是因為隊中有好幾個領￡120,000的球員
￡70,000跟他在隊中的重要性不相稱
單從這點來看槍手的提議是沒什麼效果的
可是現在因為加拉已經跟肯楊、莫里尼奧鬧的很僵
再這樣下去打一年預備隊也不是沒可能
因此$$可能會成為法國人次要考量的部分
槍手這邊已經同意 Gallas加現金換 Cole了
問題卡在切爾西那邊，他們還是希望直接用球員交換的方式完成交易
雖然這跟高層評價兩個球員的價值差很多 (￡25M vs ￡5M)
但是溫格並不排除這種可能性 (！)
因為他希望維持隊中的穩定，不要有球員三心二意的影響士氣
"I am very keen for it all to be resolved because you want your squad to
be settled and focused," said Wenger. "What is important is the players
on the pitch, those who play and make the club successful.
"What is important inside the club is players who are focused on targets
and players who are half in and half out cannot be focused on the targets
of the club, that is understandable.
"I would not say that it is damaging at the moment, but it is not helping.
In the longer term it is of course damaging because you want everybody to
go in the same direction all together. That can only be done when people
feel completely committed to the cause."
而如果最後還是拿不到 Gallas的話，Curtis Davies仍然會是考慮的目標
因為不管用多少價錢賣掉 Cole，拿去買(先前標價)￡10M的 Davies還是有賺
"Gallas is not the only player we have a chance of getting," said Wenger.
"There is always a lot happening in the last few days [of the transfer
market]. Gallas is a player we have a chance to get because he does
want to leave Chelsea, Ashley Cole wants to leave Arsenal. That's it."

顯然他也想快點把這轉會搞定
因為隊中有個健康卻不能上場的原本應該是主力的球員
是一件很惱人的事情
切爾西有三個月的時間可以買 Cole，卻要拖到最後一刻
溫格認為槍手這邊已經準備好了，要記者去問問切爾西那邊
He added: "We are still in no man's land surrounding Cole's move. I made
an offer for William Gallas and that is how far we are.
"I am very keen to resolve all of this. I want the squad to be settled."
Last week Wenger said: "It is not true that we have turned any offer down.
"Chelsea have had June, July, August. Everybody says Chelsea are interested
in buying Ashley Cole but they have had three months now to buy him."
"We are ready" said Wenger last week. "From our part there's no problem.
Why don't you ask Chelsea what the problem is? I don't know.
"It's also difficult for us. We have a player and we cannot really count on
him. Is he with us or not?
他說$$對切爾西來說根本不是問題，他們的重點是球員
如果這樣的話何不爽快一點？
04/05賽季末 Cole續簽一年合約時他已經就可以離隊了
結果是他自己要續簽的
如果最後沒有球隊提出"正確的報價"那他只好留下來
"We have to sort this situation out quite quickly. The numbers are not so
important for Chelsea. They just bought a player.
"This situation is not a money situation. We have not turned down an offer.
The problem is not between us and Chelsea.
"He doesn't need to ask for a transfer because we gave him permission to
leave when he extended his contract at the end of last season.
"He has permission to leave if a club come in and makes the right offer.
"If that doesn't happen the consequence will be that he will stay. If nobody
gives us the right offer what can you do?"

Cole made himself available for Saturday's opening league game at the
Emirates Stadium.
He said: "I maintain I have no problem with the fans and the manager.
They've been very supportive of me."
Cole has been at odds with Arsenal since June 2005 when he was fined for
meeting with Chelsea representatives, including Blues boss Jose Mourinho,
without his club's knowledge.
In the aftermath Cole blamed Arsenal vice-chairman David Dein for his
contract dispute and in June 2005 told the News of the World newspaper: "I
blame David Dein for trying to force me out of the club I love."
And in promotional material for his new book this summer the defender
criticised the club for making him a "scapegoat" over the tapping-up affair.

太陽報的訪問說溫格說
如果 Cole走了而沒有補進有經驗的球員那對球隊來說是很大的損失
不過即使那樣他還是會讓 Cole離開
因為球季開始了，陣容還不確定很令人煩惱
而且他不想要留著一個心已經不在隊上的球員
還好隊友們目前都還跟他處的不錯
沒有因為他要離開而發生什麼不愉快的事
“My squad will be light if we lose Ashley and don’t get anyone in to
replace him — but even then I will still let him go.
“I am very keen to get this situation resolved as quickly as possible. The
season has started but I still do not have a settled squad.
“All the talk is about players who are not playing and we need everyone to
be focused on achieving our targets for the season.
“I only want players who are completely committed to the cause and pulling
in the same direction.
“Players who are half in and half out of the club cannot be focused and Cole
cannot focus for as long as his situation has not been sorted out.
“It’s not damaging to us at the moment but it is not helping and it could
become damaging in the future.”
