Vieira slags Nastelrooy, Wenger scouts abroad
By Myles Palmer
MANCHESTER UNITED play Chelsea today in their biggest encounter for years.
Arsenal are third, Wigan second, Chelsea top - and United are ninth.
After losing 4-1 to Middlesborough and then losing 1-0 to Lille, the Red
Devils have turned into a tame outfit who do not scare anybody.
Patrick Vieira has called Nastelrooy a coward in the News of the World.
He says, "Ruud van Nistelerooy is a cheat and a coward who is sneaky in
the way he goes about fouling other players.
Everyone thinks he is a nice guy but, in fact, he's a son of a bitch."
At first glance it looks like a Juventus player slagging off a player at
an English club, knowing he will not face him again.
But Vieira did an interview with Martin Samuel, who said on Sky that "He
was talking about Arsenal as "we". He was talking about an opponent he
expected to be facing in the future - and he didn't care."
One of the inside page headlines in the NoW is : EVERYBODY AT ARSENAL
HATES VAN NISTELROOY.
THE BOOKIES have Man United at 9/4 to beat Chelsea, which is the best
price they have ever offered on a Man United home game in the Premiership.
That is how low United have now sunk.
Chelsea's form has dipped because they need more pressure from their
opponents, says Mourinho.
He's had a team meeting and a frank exchange of views and now he says,
"We're ready."
I believe him.
United are so bad that they need Phil Neville in a holding role.
And if you gave deteriorated so far that you are badly missing Phil
Neville, it's a sorry state of affairs.
Rio Ferdinand is a dimwit they should have sold when they had the chance,
rather than giving him a huge pay rise.
Ronaldo's father died about six weeks ago, he's had that rape allegation,
and he may have been tapped up by Real Madrid, so Cristiano is a shadow
of the thrilling goalscorer he was last season.
Some of us reckon Van Nistelrooy wanted away but nobody would buy him last
summer. So he has had the hump all season.
The scuffling Scholes returning as captain will not lift the spirits of
United fans.
Silvestre is playing like a zombie.
CAN SIR ALEX turn it round?
Or will he go on re-arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic?
I FANCY UNITED to lose, although Arsene would prefer United to win today.
I'm on a roll, having won four and a half bets out of five yesterday,
Arsenal being the half. They beat Sunderland by two goals, not three,
as I expected.
Should I have a bet on Chelsea ?
Well, I really don't think Man United are in any shape to contain Chelsea
and get a draw today.
THE CRESPO STORY is quite interesting, though.
When Crespo wasn't in the team to play at Real Betis, he refused to travel
to Spain.
That is NOT the attitude a manager wants.
Also, I'm sure his contract requires Hernan Crespo Esq. to play for
Chelsea FC in any match, any place, as required by the club.
However, Mourinho will be needing Crespo at some time during the next
eight weeks, before he can replace the Argentinian in January.
INTRIGUINGLY, Arsene has said he will not be watching the Old Trafford
match because he will be in another country watching another match.
He rarely scouts games himself, but he checked out 23-year old Egyptian
Hossam Ghaly of Feyenoord.

Blimey !
How wrong can you be !
Didn't think United could still play like that.
Man United 1 Chelsea 0 !!!!
A pulsating game with a Cup-tie climax.
Darren Fletcher scored a fabulous header from a fantastic Ronaldo cross (30).
Gudjohnsen for Essien (55) transformed Chelsea, but they couldn't score.
Resurrection of Sir Alex.
Crucified last week, rises from the dead on Sunday afternoon.
Who writes his scripts?
Man United move up to third.
