Sylvain began the campaign with a scoring spree. He struck after just 24
minutes of the season with a solo effort against Birmingham. That was the
start of six goals in his first six games. Ironically the only one of those
games in which he did not score was at Chelsea, when his swapped his
midfield role for one up front.

He went on to score in consecutive games in November but, before the winter
break, had not hit the net in the Champions League despite being involved in
every game.
