槍手女子隊在聯賽盃決賽擊敗查爾頓奪冠。女子隊還有打到歐洲盃去。
昨晚有看MOTD播出這場比賽，隊長White還踢出一記三十碼長射掛對方球門遠柱死角。

Gunners coach hails spirit
Faye White bagged a brace as Arsenal beat Charlton in the Women's
Premier League Cup final at Griffin Park.

Striker Julie Fleeting opened the scoring for the Gunners, heading
home from Kirsty Pealling's fine cross.

Skipper White doubled Arsenal's lead shortly after the break,
turning in a Pealling corner.

And White finished the game off midway through the second half,
picking the ball up 30 yards from goal and scoring with a rasping
drive.

Charlton played some incisive football in the first half and were
unlucky to be behind at the interval.

The pacy Eniola Aluko almost gave the Addicks the lead after 21
minutes, the striker just poking the ball past Emma Byrne's
left-hand post.

But it was Fleeting who opened the scoring for Arsenal two minutes
later, ramming home a powerful header from Pealling's cross.

Scottish international Fleeting had been quiet until that point
but her 18th goal of the season triggered a period of sustained
pressure from the Gunners.

And on 27 minutes, Lianne Sanderson's flick was saved by Pauline
Cope in the Charlton goal following a goal-mouth melee.

However, Carmaine Walker almost levelled things after 34 minutes,
redirecting a Danielle Murphy free-kick only for Emma Byrne to pull
off a fine reaction save.

And on 37 minutes the roles were reversed, Murphy heading Walker's
cross on to the outside of the post as Charlton continued to press.

But three minutes after the restart, defender White doubled Arsenal's
lead, latching on to a low Peeling corner while Cope was stranded.

Although Charlton's Leanne Reidy appeared to hook the ball off the
line, the referee's assistant adjudged that it had crossed it.

After 64 minutes, Charlton substitute Ann-Marie Heatherson failed to
put away a rare second-half chance from a Walker cross.

And White's long-range effort into the top left-hand corner of Cope's
goal snuffed out Charlton's hopes.

Ten minutes from full-time, Fleeting wriggled out of a challenge on
the edge of the box and hit the crossbar.

And she almost scored again on 85 minutes before Cope produced a
fine save in injury time to deny Jayne Ludlow.
