Arsenal scorers: Lara Fay (2), Ashleigh Goddard (3), Dan Carter (2),
Lois Roache, Brooke Nunn.
Arsenal Ladies Reserves made their debut at new home ground Rowley Lane
on Sunday and secured an emphatic win over Millwall Lionesses to mark the
occasion.
The visitors took the lead after 15 minutes when good strike brought a save
from Arsenal keeper Sarah Quantrill, but she could only push it onto the bar
for the Millwall striker to pounce and put the Lionesses ahead.
In response Arsenal upped the tempo pulled a goal back a couple of minutes
later through Lara Fay. The half was drawing to a close with Arsenal putting
Millwall under pressure, and good work from Dan Carter set up
Ashleigh Goddard to send the Gunners into the lead at half time.
After the break Millwall started to tire and Arsenal punished them with a
seven-goal blast. Carter struck twice and Fay got her second before
Ashleigh Goddard topped a good personal week with a hat-trick.
Lois Roache and Brooke Nunn completed the scoring for Arsenal who ran out
comfortable 9-1 winners against their local rivals.
