Arsenal Ladies started this important Cup tie where they left off when they
beat Everton 1-0 at the start of the season in the Women’s Community Shield.

展新的賽季就在社區盾比賽中以1-0擊敗艾佛頓, 女槍們取得重要的開門紅。

They realised it was going to be a hard game, and that Everton would be out
to seek revenge after their last defeat.

槍手們明白這一場比賽並不好踢, 對方將使出混身解數, 奮戰不懈地防守。

Arsenal Ladies dominated the first half right from the whistle and had many
chances to gain the early advantage.

上半場, 槍手主導著比賽節奏, 創造許多機會, 可惜一直未能進球。

Arsenal’s joy came down the flanks as Gemma Davison and Karen Carney were
regularly found and were able to take on the Everton full backs.

Gemma與Karen持續地威脅著對方的大門。

Two goals just before the break sent Arsenal in with a commanding position
against the cup holders. Karen Carney calmly converted a penalty after
Kim Little was barged down in the box.

中場前, 女槍的努力終於有了成果取得兩粒入球。
Karen穩紮穩打地踢進點球, 小金也進了一球, 比分2-0。

Little then got her first of the match when some excellent play down the
right from Davison found her at the front post to cheekily slot the ball
under the Everton keeper.

下半場開始沒多久, 小金梅開二度, Davison助攻, 小金一記漂亮入球擴大領先優勢。

Little added her second early in the second-half to give Everton an even
harder chance of a comeback.

小金的進球也讓艾佛頓在下半場更加無力回天。

Fara Williams replied but with only 12 minutes left on the clock.

Arsenal Ladies have been drawn Millwall or Leicester City away in the next
round of the League Cup which is due to be played on Sunday, November 2.
