Neil Banfield
Neil is now responsible for reserve team matters following Eddie
Niedzwiecki’s departure for Blackburn early in 2004/05. A highly
rated coach, Neil had previously taken charge of various youth teams
at Arsenal since coming to the Club in 1997.
While part of the Academy’s coaching staff, Neil’s teams won two FA
Youth Cups, the National Academy Under-17 league in 1999/2000 and the
regional Academy Under-19 league in 2003/04. He guided the reserves to
a top three finish last season.
During his playing days Neil was a central defender, representing England
Schoolboys, Crystal Palace and Leyton Orient, as well as enjoying a spell
in Australia with Adelaide City.
