Wenger plays down Chelsea contest
Arsene Wenger refuses to accept the title will be Chelsea's if Jose Mourinho's
side can win at Arsenal on Sunday and open up an eight-point lead.
He said: "The season is not finished but you can say Chelsea are already better
than they were last year.
"But there is still a lot to go for and you can only judge the teams when the
season is over. You can never afford to lose even if you're 20 points ahead.
"We want to fight for the championship and we hope we can win on Sunday."
Wenger is hoping Swedish midfielder Freddie Ljungberg can recover from his
"massive migraine", but he has faith in Mathieu Flamini and Cesc Fabregas in
the absence of the suspended Patrick Vieira.
"Ideally we would like to have Patrick but we face reality and the reality is
we have to be strong enough to win the game," added Wenger.
"I've total faith in Fabregas and Flamini. They are not players who are afraid
of big atmospheres - they've shown that.
"Cesc has enough experience to play in that atmosphere and Flamini is just
focused on the game.
"As for Freddie, he was better on Friday. He had a good session, although not
with the rest of the team.
"We have another session on Saturday and then I will decide whether to include
him or not. The signs look positive though."
