ArsenalThierry Henry hit back at suggestions that he is not a big-game
player after scoring twice against Chelsea.

Henry's brace helped The Gunners earn a 2-2 draw against the Premiership
leader at Highbury on Sunday.

Although his two-goal blast was not enough for victory, Henry hit back
at suggestions that he is not as effect when it matters.

"People say I only score in small games so this game must have been a
small one again," Henry told Sky Sports.

"I just tried my best but unfortunately it was not enough to win the
game today.

"I thought we showed some great commitment. Everyone was wondering if
our midfield would cope with theirs but we showed that we could.

"I thought Flamini and Fabregas coped well. A draw is not too bad, and
I think it was a fair result."

Henry's second goal from a controversial quickly-taken free kick, but
the Frenchman had no qualms about the validity of the strike after
getting referee Graham Poll's permission to take it early.

"He asked me 'Do you want to wait for the whistle and for the players
to go back 10 yards? I said no, I wanted to have a go.

"He said I could have a go and I was just waiting for Eidur Gudjohnsen
to move out of the way and then I took it."

Arsene Wenger was frustrated with a draw after twice taking the lead,
but was happy with the way his young midfielders coped with Chelsea.

"It was frustrating because we were twice in the lead but got pegged
back so it is difficult to take," said Wenger.

"We suffered on set pieces because we were too small as a unit.

"I thought we dealt with it better as the game went on and we looked
like we could win it at the end.

"I think the team has a great future as the youngsters that took over
in the middle of the park played very well.

"I want to congratulate the team as they performed very well.

"We have many experienced players out and I feel we are back to where
we want to be.

"It was an intense game and we had a lot less maturity and experience
but we battled well. It was important not to lose as we have so many
players out."
