Arsenal v Sheffield United - An FA Cup history

Arsenal and Sheffield United will be battling it out at Old Trafford on
Sunday, April 13 for a place in the 2003 FA Cup final.
The Gunners and the Blades have a Cup history which stretches back all
the way to 1903, in fact the first ever competitive meeting between the
two sides was an FA Cup first-round tie won by the Yorkshiremen by three
goals to one.
The only time the two sides have met on neutral ground was in the 1936 FA
Cup final at Wembley. An Arsenal side inspired by Gunners legends such as
Alex James, Ted Drake and Cliff Bastin won the Cup for the second time in
the Club's history courtesy of a Drake goal in a 1-0 win.

Few Arsenal or Sheffield United fans will have forgotten the last time the
two sides met in the FA Cup. A controversial Marc Overmars goal in a 2-1
Arsenal win led to the Club offering Sheffield United an unprecedented
replay.
The historic match, played 10 days later, ended with the same scoreline
following goals from Dennis Bergkamp and another from Overmars.
