Thierry Henry - We are learning our lessons the hard way

The captain was disconsolate as he spoke after Tuesday’s heartbreaking exit
from the Carling Cup at the hands of Wigan. Arsenal were on the cusp of another
trip to Cardiff before Jason Roberts profited on hesitancy in the home defence
to fire in from close range.
“I think that is a reflection of our season right there,” said Henry.
“It is difficult to take. I know they had a lot of opportunities to score
but we had a lot of opportunities.
“On the other side it difficult with the goal we conceded. We conceded the
same goal at Everton when maybe we were not playing that great but it looked
like we were going to get back to a good position.
“It was a long ball not really looking for anyone. It would have been sweeter
if they had scored with one of their better chances. Orz...
“When you play like we did — desire, commitment and creating chances —
there is nothing to say about it. I thought we played tremendously at times.
“But at the moment we are making mistakes we cannot afford. We are learning
the hard way and it is a bit difficult to swallow.
“We can’t always rely on good football sometimes we need to come out with
the win. They did something that we did not do. We did not score at their
ground and they did. They kept on believing and got their reward.”
Henry is set to miss Saturday’s trip to Bolton in the FA Cup Fourth Round.
Arsenal have already lost at the Reebok Stadium this season in the Premiership,
the Frenchman believes it is imperative to get some consistency back on their
travels.
“For us it is really important to get points away from home,” he said.
“As you saw [on Tuesday] we can play great football but we need to get back
on track away from home and make sure we can grab that fourth place in the
Premiership.”

然而不是所有人都沉浸在悲痛氣氛下，隊長亨利第一個表現出自己的憤怒，他警告
隊友，要拯救這個蒼白的賽季絕不是嘴上說說，還要拿出點實際行動來。
溫格派出幾乎全部主力出戰維岡，然而不久前在同一塊場地上7球橫掃米堡的槍
手們踢了120分鐘僅1球小勝，更致命的是，他們在比賽最後一分鐘被對手攻入一球，
最終因客場進球劣勢慘遭淘汰。雷耶斯射失了本賽季第五個點球，若點球罰進，阿森
納有望在90分鐘里取得勝利，然而這個失誤隨後被亨利和范佩西沖淡，如果不是最後
時刻那個失球，勝利者還是阿森納。又是長傳，又是後衛犯錯，阿森納原本一只腳都
踏進了卡迪夫(聯賽杯決賽場地)，可惜又撤了回來。
隊長亨利終於發怒了。
“這場比賽就是我們整個賽季的縮影。在埃弗頓和維岡比賽中丟的兩個球完全一樣。
進球又如何？照這種趨勢下去想贏球太困難了。”

傳球，”亨利說，“不會精確找到任何人身前。我們的學費交得太多、太昂貴了。”
“如果犯一次錯誤能令球隊吸取經驗教訓，增強實力，那麼阿森納早就應該變得更強
了。總是犯這種錯誤，球隊承擔不起！”
維埃拉走後，阿森納依舊苦苦支撐著攻勢足球的大旗，漂亮仗也打過，但戰績卻
是直線下滑。“不能依賴漂亮足球得到什麼，我們需要的是勝利。”亨利終於向“結果”
低頭了，“技術統計不能將阿森納帶去卡迪夫。我是個技術統計迷，它能如實反應比賽
中的情況，但有的時候技術統計和最終比分不是同行的。”
失去爭奪聯賽杯冠軍的機會，亨利和其他人一樣失望。“一般我不會看沒有阿森
納的決賽，所以我想自己不會去看聯賽杯決賽。眼下最重要的是回到阿森納熟悉的軌
跡上去，尤其是客場戰績，爭取奪回聯賽第四的位置。”
最近有關亨利與巴薩達成口頭協議的消息充斥著西班牙媒體，不過英格蘭媒體方
面類似報導極少，可以理解，不論是阿森納俱樂部還是英超聯賽，都不愿意失去這樣
一名超級殺手。而另一份來自西班牙的求購請求就沒有受到阻礙。據《太陽報》透露，
瓦倫西亞愿意為皮雷提供一份兩年的合同，如果阿森納的續約條件不能讓法國人滿意，
他很有可能在合同到期後離開阿森納。
皮雷最近狀態不錯，傳球和破門狀態都在向最好水准靠近。但是阿森納遲遲不肯
破例和這位年過30的老功臣續約，目前傳出的最新消息是在溫格的周旋下，俱樂部愿
意為皮雷提供一份1+1合同，續約一年，然後有優先選擇權。但阿森納做出的讓步還是
沒有達到皮雷的希望，他想要的是確確實實的兩年合同，不帶一點水分。眼下皮雷已
經達到了新東家簽約的條件，而且如果夏天轉會，阿森納收不到一分錢。
