Arsenal legend Ian Wright says that the Carling Cup glory is pivotal for the
Gunners. He said: "Win and it's a huge monkey off their backs, an end to all
the whispering campaigns about how they play great football but never have
anything to show for it. And it's also a huge shot in the arm for the rest of
the season, with everything they still have to play for."

Alex McLeish is willing to wait until the last minute before deciding whether
Alexander Hleb is fit to face former club Arsenal in the Carling Cup final on
Sunday. McLeish said: "He is a fantastic player with huge experience and that
would be important in a game of this magnitude."

- Bentley urges for Birmingham belief
Cup-tied midfielder David Bentley has urged his Birmingham team-mates to
believe they can win the Carling Cup. Bentley played for Spurs when they were
beaten 4-1 by Arsenal earlier in the competition and he said: "If you are
positive - and you have to believe - you can do anything. I don't see any
reason why we can't go out there and put our stamp on the game. We shouldn't
respect them too much or let them play. We should get in their faces."

Birmingham boss Alex McLeish says there will be no room for sentiment when he
selects his Carling Cup final team. He said: "I'm not going to the cup final
to be sympathetic to people. I'm not going to be thinking, 'I need to play
him because he did well in that round.' I've got to pick a team I think will
win the cup and it's up for grabs, places are up for grabs."
