The 34-year-old looked set to leave Arsenal after he stayed behind in Holland following the breakdown of initial negotiations. But now he has settled his differences and is set to rejoin his Arsenal team-mates for pre-season training on Thursday. Bergkamp, however, will face a battle for regular action in the Premiership in the forthcoming season. Wenger, who has also been linked with a move for Lens striker Daniel Moreira, offers Bergkamp no guarantees despite his continuing faith in his ability. It is very difficult to say who will play up front alongside Thierry Henry this season," he declared. "Will it be Aliadiere, Wiltord, Jeffers, Bergkamp or Kanu? We will have to see." Wenger is committed to keeping the key elements of his current squad together as talks continue with both Patrick Vieira and Bergkamp over new contracts, as well as bringing in a new goalkeeper. Vieira has warned the club that they risk losing him on a Bosman free transfer next summer unless the lucrative deal that he is seeking at Highbury is agreed before the start of the new campaign. Wenger remains confident that Vieira will stay put, although he is still searching for a replacement for David Seaman, who has left to join Manchester City as he could not be assured first-team football. "I haven't made a decision yet so the situaton is open. The only thing is clear is that we will buy a new goalkeeper before the start of the season," said the Arsenal boss. "At the moment, the best way of strengthening is to get all the players back. "I don't think we need a lot, just for our players to be in good shape and show our usual ambition." -- 厄 -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.csie.ntu.edu.tw) ◆ From: 61.219.206.242
