That's the view of Arsene Wenger, who bought the striker from Everton three years ago but allowed Jeffers to return to Merseyside on loan last season before agreeing a permanent move to Charlton. The Addicks visit Highbury on Saturday and Jeffers finds himself in a familiar predicament. Injury could rule him out of the game, rather like injury hampered his progress during his time at Arsenal. "I feel he missed the train when he first arrived and it is always difficult to get back," said Wenger. "He was injured for a year and came with an ankle in very bad shape. "It took him a year to get that right. Then when the train has passed it is difficult to get on it. "In the second year he had to play and sometimes I feel it is better to go somewhere else and build your confidence." Jeffers has already made a good impression at Charlton with three goals in five starts. Wenger believes he can thrive at The Valley. "He is still young and Charlton is perfect for him to build his confidence," he said. "Francis is an intelligent player and there is always room for an intelligent player up front." -- "We will try, but football is not self service - you put the coins in and get out a bar of chocolate, it is not like that. It is a hard effort and what we can do is try our best and keep a desire to improve." - Arsene Wenger -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 80.229.140.103
