Lauren has now firmly established himself as the club's first-choice
right back. The 25-year-old has improved his defensive skill greatly
while retaining his desire to get forward. He even cropped up with a
goal in the West Brom game in August.

An ankle injury picked up in the 1-0 win at Fulham kept him out for
six week in November and December. But he returned with style.

Just after coming back he announced his retirement from international
football. Cameroon's loss is Arsenal's gain.
