Edu not dwelling on past defeat

Brazilian midfielder Edu believes that Arsenal's damaging 2-0 defeat at
Old Trafford earlier this season will have no bearing on Saturday's FA
Cup final.
October's loss ended Arsenal's record 49-match unbeaten league run,
sparking a mini-crisis, with the Gunners winning only three of their next
10 games.
Edu, 27, told BBC Sport: "Old Trafford is past. It's nothing to worry about.
"If you start to think about those other things it can push you down. If
we play to our best then we can win."
Including that Old Trafford defeat, Arsenal have lost their last four
competitive games to United - a 4-2 defeat at Highbury in the Premiership,
a 1-0 Carling Cup quarter-final loss, as well suffering a 1-0 defeat in last
season's FA Cup semi-final at Villa Park.
But Edu insisted that United will not hold the psychological advantage over
the Gunners at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday, despite Arsenal's poor
recent record against Sir Alex Ferguson's side.
"I don't think so," said the Brazilian international. "A cup final is a
final and this one is between big clubs with big players involved. I think
it will be a good match to watch. It will be special for both clubs.
"One thing for sure is we are going to Cardiff looking to win the
competition. We are looking forward to the game and are ready for it.
"If you start to think about those other things it can push you down.
If we can play to our best then we can win."
United's Premiership victory at Old Trafford drew complaints from Arsenal
over an over-physical approach from United but Edu revealed that the Gunners
would not be deflected from pursuing their passing game.
"We go for the game like every match," he said. "We don't have to change
anything. In these games no-one wants to lose and that's why they are
physical."
Edu is the first Brazilian to have played in England who has won both the
FA Cup and the Premiership title.
"I will always be in the history of the FA Cup. It's a fantastic feeling
to be the first Brazilian to have won the FA Cup final," he stated.
Saturday's final will be Edu's last game for Arsenal, with the Brazilian
set to leave the club at the end of the season.
In January his proposed move to Valencia collapsed and Gunners boss Arsene
Wenger had hoped he would reconsider his decision to leave.
"I've decided to go after the FA Cup final but I haven't decided which
club I'm going to join," Edu said last week.
"A lot of clubs have asked about me and since January my agent has spoken
to Real Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia in Spain and Juventus in Italy."
While Edu has been at Arsenal he has also broken into the Brazilian
international team.
"I will remember my friends that I have here and I have had fanastic
times winning the titles," said Edu. "I have a lot of good things to
remember."
