Arsenal's Edu suffers broken foot

Arsenal's Brazilian international midfielder Edu has broken his foot.
Edu, who has only just recovered from a calf injury, suffered the injury
in Tuesday's 3-1 Carling Cup win over Everton at Highbury.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said: "He has a broken foot. I think it's
the right foot. I don't know how long he will be out."

Edu was the most senior player in an Arsenal team featuring the club's
clutch of promising youngsters.

And Wenger believes the future of the club is in safe hands after his
team romped to victory over Everton.

He said: "It's not only that we qualified, but that we did it in style
and we love doing that.

"This team has quality and it shows the future of the club is in good
hands.

"I was pleased we didn't panic at 1-0 down. After that, it was a good
mixture of enthusiasm and quality. They played intelligently, technically
well and with the spirit we like to play the game."

Arsenal's Brazilian midfielder Edu is facing up to six weeks on the
sidelines with a broken toe.

Edu, who has only just recovered from a calf injury, suffered the injury
in Tuesday's 3-1 Carling Cup win over Everton at Highbury.

Gunners manager Arsene Wenger said: "He has a broken bone in a toe on his
right foot - it's the bad news of the night."

[官方消息]埃度將缺陣到年底

-11月11日-

在聯賽杯比賽中趾骨骨折的埃度可能要缺陣至12月底。

主教練溫格接受 Arsenal.com 的獨家訪問時，證實了這個不幸的消息。

「我們將要失去埃度4至5個星期。」溫格說：「直到12月底。他與吉爾貝托
同時受傷，影響實在太大了，希望他們能在轉會窗重開前復出，否則我們可
能要引進新球員。」

在同一場比賽中，懷恩史密夫亦在上半場傷出，這名剛剛渡過18歲生辰的小
將又要缺陣一段時間。

「情況比最初估計要好。」溫格說：「他只是膝蓋的中韌帶受傷，將要養傷
6個星期。」

此外，溫格亦談及了其他傷員的康復情況。

「目前還未能預測索爾-坎貝爾將會何時復出。」溫格說：「我只能說他康復
的進展不錯。」
