Edu ended last season in fine form and he continued in the same vein at the
beginning of this season. He started the first five Premiership games and
scored when coming off the bench in the next, at Charlton.

His next Premiership start was dramatic. He put through his own net early on
in the game against Blackburn at Highbury. But he levelled matters himself
with a free-kick on the stroke of half time.
