事後被警察找到他，一問之下才說他一時驚嚇心虛，才會離開出事現
場。在英國，損害道路財產又意圖逃逸出事現場，可能會被處以六個
月勞刑與兩千英鎊罰鍰。
范佩西價值六萬五英鎊的BMV車車頭撞爛，當送到車廠時技工已認為這
沒法修了，對於范佩西能毫髮無傷的離開那輛撞爛的車，覺得不可思議。
這年輕人都已經二十歲了，不知道在想什麼....

ARSENAL ace Robin Van Persie wrote off his BMW in a high-speed
motorway crash yesterday — then fled the scene.
Cops traced the Dutch midfielder to the club’s training ground
where they quizzed him.
Van Persie, 21, told officers he had panicked and called a friend
to pick him up after miraculously escaping unscathed from the
￡65,000 motor.
The star — who signed from Feyenoord for ￡2.75million in May —
used countryman clubmate Dennis Bergkamp as an interpreter.
Van Persie was not arrested or breathalysed — but he must report
to a police station today with his car documents.
The player smashed into the central reservation barrier on the
M25 near St Albans, Herts, on his way to training.
His BMW 635i overturned, skidded across the road and slid down
a bank before ending up in a field.
The mangled car, with the entire front stoved in, was taken to
a garage at Waltham Cross.
The accident wrecked the motorway’s crash barrier. Leaving a
crash scene where there is damage to a fixed construction is a
criminal offence with up to six months in jail and a ￡2,000 fine.
A mechanic said: “The car is a complete write-off. It’s amazing
that anyone got out of it alive.”
Cops traced Van Persie to Arsenal’s London Colney training ground
nearby through his vehicle registration.
A club source said: “Robin had no idea he was doing wrong by
leaving the scene of the crash. He went to a phone box and called
a colleague to pick him up. He was very shaken.”
Police said: “He has not been arrested but we are continuing to
make inquiries.”
