Arsenal vice-chairman David Dein insisted Thierry Henry was the only
realistic candidate to win the FIFA World Player of the Year award.

Henry is vying with Ronaldinho and Andrei Shevchenko for the annual
award which will be presented in Zurich on December 20.

Personally, even if I am somewhat biased, it would be an injustice
if Thierry doesn't win it," Dein told the Soccerex conference in Dubai.
"He's an extraordinary player."

Dein also reiterated his opposition to a European breakaway league.

"We already have a good system with the Champions League. It's not necessary
for the good and the great to set up their own league.

"That would just make things sterile with everyone playing against everyone
else."

The Arsenal supremo also made light of the gap opened by Chelsea in the
Premiership and gave a typically robust defence of Arsenal's recent blip.

"We are not even a third of the way through the season, there's a long way
to go yet. Just because we've lost two games, we haven't given up at all.

"Far from being in crisis, we have probably the strongest squad I have ever
seen at the club."
