Henry criticises transfer policy
Arsenal 1-0 Bayern Munich
Wenger coy over rebuilding
Thierry Henry thinks Arsenal's lack of new signings may have partly led
to their Champions League failure.
And the Gunners striker also believes their new stadium project was a
factor in their cautious spending approach.
Henry said: "I'm not trying to look for excuses but we've had to squeeze
our teeth for the new stadium for a while.
"Last year we did something brilliant, so no-one noticed that no-one new
came. But this season we've been missing some people in the starting
line-up."
Henry added: "It has shown in our results that we have missed them.
"But the only people you can put those questions to are the board."
Though Henry's goal gave Arsenal a 1-0 win in Wednesday's second leg at
Highbury, Arsenal went out 3-2 on aggregate.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been guaranteed a significant transfer
funds to boost his squad in the summer.
And the club's managing director, Keith Edelman, has stressed that the
development of their new £350m stadium at Ashburton Grove had no effect
on Wenger's spending power.
