but the Real Madrid FC forward frequently evaded his marker to create constant
danger for the besieged Greek back-line

Before the half-hour, Raul pounced on a loose ball on the edge of the penalty
box after Mihalis Kapsis lost control. He cleverly back-heeled to Morientes,
who jinked before calmly putting Spain ahead. After Greece equalised in the
second-half, Raul continued to press, but despite two headers,
he could not score the goal his fine individual performance merited.
