Aston Villa boss David O'Leary has added Arsenal forward Jermaine Pennant to
his shopping list for the January sales.O'Leary wants chairman Doug Ellis to
release funds for him to add 'four or five' top-quality players to his squad,
who are flying high in sixth place - just three points behind fourth-placed
Manchester United.

阿斯頓維拉主帥奧萊利承認想在1月份引進阿森納前鋒彭南特。奧萊利希望主席Doug
Ellis能夠給與他資金來引進「4到5名」一流球員。目前阿斯頓維拉戰績優異，排名英超
第六，只比第4名曼聯少3分。

James Beattie is high on the Villa chief's wanted list, but with Everton -
armed with cash from the sale of Wayne Rooney - also interested, the price
may not be right for Villa.

With that in mind, a move for Pennant - who spent a successful loan spell at
Leeds last season but has failed to hold down a regular place at Highbury -
could be more within Villa's financial reach as he is rated in the ￡2m
bracket.And the 21-year-old's versatility, being able to play as a striker
or wide on the right, will appeal to O'Leary, who is working with a small
squad.
