ANGULO STAYS IN SPAIN

Valencia midfielder Miguel Angel Angulo has signed a new contract at the
Mestalla, ending Arsenal and Chelsea's hopes of landing the Spaniard.
The 27-year-old had seemed set to tie up a move to Highbury, only to agree
a new four-year contract with the reigning La Liga and UEFA Cup champions
after reportedly starting a medical with the Gunners.
Valencia president Jaime Orti commented: "He has decided to return to the
club and when he arrives we will see why he has taken this decision.
"Angulo's decision has nothing to do with the medical test. He deserves all
of our affection and I hope he returns here to stay."
The player had earlier claimed: "Chelsea were interested in me, but I chose
Arsenal.
"I don't know Arsene Wenger personally, but my opinion of him is very
positive. He is a great coach who employs modern systems in English
football.
"He is one of the best coaches in Europe."
