Baek made a successful return from Tommy John surgery last season, going 8-4
with a with a 3.12 ERA, 104 H and 96/26 K/BB in 112 2/3 IP between Single-A
Inland Empire and Double-A San Antonio.  He doesn’t quite have his old
velocity back, but maybe that will change in 2004, and if it does, he could
develop into a No. 3 or No. 4 starter.
