The fourth-round duel was the third time Asia's leading player had competed on Rod Laver Arena in his most successful year at Melbourne Park, following second-round appearances in 2000 and 2003. It was the pair's second meeting after Srichaphan staged an upset victory over the 34-year-old multiple Grand Slam winner at Wimbledon last year. "Well, no I'm not disappointed," the 24 year-old said of his 7-6 6-3 6-4 defeat, "it was a great match. He's playing really well." Srichaphan rolled his ankle during the third set and said he found the long rallies with Agassi too demanding. He said he felt rushed by the supremely experienced American after squandering five set points in the opening set. "I think I didn't take my time at all at love-40 because we'd been playing a long point….I didn't take my time. I saw him ready and I just, you know, [had to] go and get ready and play the point. He did it well." "If I did take my time a little bit, it would be a little different because we were playing a long point before. And we were both breathing so hard. So I didn't take my time at all at love-40." Having become the first Asian-born player to rank in the top ten last year, Srichaphan feels he needs to work on his approach to the net. "I feel like my game has almost everything. Just, you know, if I can come in to the net more to finish the point at the net it would be helping my match a lot. I think I'm staying on the baseline too much - maybe not too much because it is my game," he said. "I have to be confident to hit the ball to the weakness of my opponent, which is backhand or forehand, then try to come in and finish the point at the net." Srichaphan will enjoy at least four days off in his hometown, Bangkok, before playing Davis Cup against Pakistan. He will then travel to Rotterdam, Europe, India and Miami. -- -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 140.116.130.153 -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 118.167.182.12
