以前這航線是BA 的獨家生意, 從倫敦飛丹佛通常比飛更遠的LAX/SFO 還貴. 看來英美之間班次越來越緊密了‧ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ United to fly Denver to London route By Kelly Yamanouchi The Denver Post Article Last Updated: 11/01/2007 11:15:30 AM MDT United Airlines today said it will begin flying from Denver to London Heathrow Airport starting March 30 next year. It's another step forward for Denver International Airport's effort to add international flights. It will be United's only long-haul overseas international route from Denver. United is the largest carrier in Denver and has its second largest hub at Denver International Airport. British Airways already flies from Denver to London. The opportunity for United to fly from Denver to London Heathrow is opened up with a new Open Skies agreement loosening restrictions on flights to London Heathrow. "We've long had a serious interest in providing service from Denver to London, but the regulatory environment prevented us from doing so," said John Tague, United's chief revenue officer. "Generally right now the business market is extremely strong for all of our European markets, and we would expect this to have a significant component of business travel," Tague said. And, "the Rockies, Denver, is an enormously popular U.S. destination for Europeans." United said it is offering introductory sale fares until Nov. 15 starting at $319 each way for travel Monday through Wednesday and $339 each way for travel Thursday through Sunday through May 17 for tickets purchased from the U.S., based on a roundtrip purchase. The Denver-London route will be on a Boeing 777 jet with 258 seats, including 12 first class, 49 business class and 197 economy class seats. Eighty-three of the economy seats will be economy plus seats with additional legroom. By late 2009, the aircraft will have flat-bed business seats and new United first class suites, along with other amenities. The route will have about 15 tons of cargo capacity per flight, and United expects to carry commodities such as high-tech components and parts, medical-related supplies and equipment and exhibition material and artwork. The Denver-London flight will depart at 6:55 p.m. and arrive at 10:50 a.m., while the London-Denver flight will depart at 1:05 p.m. and arrive at 4:14 p.m. The flight is about nine hours long from Denver and about 10 hours long from London.
