DTI and EA bring the Sims to 747s

EA AND DTI just announced they are bringing a bunch of the lightweight Pogo
games to airplanes in flight.
The more curious bit is that they are bringing Sims 2 along with it. I can
understand small puzzle games, but the Sims 2 is a comparatively heavyweight
game as far as the hardware needed to run it is concerned.
In any case, DTI does a lot of work in the In Flight Entertainment (IFE)
market, and these new games add a high profile partner to the mix. Add in 62
'airline partners', that may not be the same as airlines, and you have a very
wide distribution range and audience.
The most significant thing here is that games are growing up. No longer are
they just for kids, something we knew already, but are being pitched at the
executive class directly. If they don't do the usual airline scary pricing
models, this could be a very good thing. μ
