ROLLS-ROYCE TRENT 700 ENGINES SELECTED TO POWER A330-300 FLEET

Singapore Airlines has selected the Rolls-Royce Trent 700 engine to power 19
Airbus A330-300旧, scheduled for delivery between 2009 and 2011. The aircraft
will be delivered new, on operating leases from Airbus.

Under the terms of the leases, Singapore Airlines had a choice from among the
three makes of engines available for the aircraft. The selection was made
following the technical assessments of the engines and evaluation of offers
from all the three manufacturers.

Singapore Airlines signed a Letter of Intent today with Rolls-Royce to provide
engines, spares and maintenance under a TotalCare Services Agreement.

Rolls-Royce will be responsible for the provision of off-wing maintenance,
repair and overhaul of engines, as well as spare engine support. The engines
will be repaired and overhauled at Singapore Aero Engine Services Limited
(SAESL) - a Joint Venture company, owned by SIA Engineering Company Limited
and Rolls-Royce.

ROLLS-ROYCE TRENT 700 SELECTED FOR SINGAPORE AIRLINES A330s

Rolls-Royce announced today that Singapore Airlines has selected the Trent 700
to power a new fleet of 19 leased Airbus A330-300 twinjets. The deal also
includes a TotalCare long-term services agreement.

Deliveries of these new aircraft will begin in early 2009, and will mark the
entry into service of the fourth Trent family variant in Singapore Airline's
fleet.

The airline selected the Trent 700 following a detailed evaluation of all
engines available on the A330.

Sir John Rose, Chief Executive Officer of Rolls-Royce, said: 'Singapore
Airlines is a key customer for us and we're obviously very pleased at the
confidence they have shown in the Trent engine family with the selection of
the Trent 700, their fourth variant. This will further strengthen our
relationship with one of the world's leading airlines and helps to reconfirm
our position as the number one large engine manufacturer on next-generation
widebodies.'

The Trent 700 is the cleanest and quietest engine for the A330 and meets all
current and proposed legislation on environmental targets.

Singapore Airlines currently operates a fleet of 63 Rolls-Royce powered
aircraft, including five Airbus A340-500s and 58 Boeing 777s, powered by the
Trent 500 and Trent 800 respectively. The airline also has 10 Trent 900-powered
A380s on order.

The Trent 700 is the market leader on the A330 with a 42 per cent share of
orders and 33 customers and operators. Of the A330s that have been ordered by
airlines in Asia, 61 per cent have selected the Trent 700, with Singapore
being the seventh airline customer in the region. It was the first Rolls-Royce
Trent to enter service in March 1995.

TotalCare agreements, tailored for individual customers, offer a range of
services extending to aspects of support such as provision of lease engines,
as well as repair and overhaul. Rolls-Royce takes full responsibility for care
of the engine fleet in return for payment by the customer of an agreed dollar
rate per flying hour.
