~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Two Japanese airlines shuffle 787, 767 orders In case you missed it . . . Japan's All Nippon Airways and Japan Airlines are shuffling their 787 and 767 orders. Japan Airlines has abandoned its order for 13 of Boeing's 787-3s and has decided to take delivery of 787-8s instead, FlightBlogger Jon Ostrower noted last week. Boeing initially planned to have the 787-3 enter service between the 787-8 and 787-9, but suspended design work on the aircraft in favor of allocating resources to the development of the stretched -9 variant. Boeing has always maintained that it plans to build the -3, but declines to publicly specify a timeline, saying only that it will come after the -9. Japan Airlines has 35 orders for 787-8s, according to a search on Boeing's orders page. In addition, ANA has converted some of its 787-3 orders to 787-8, and has canceled an order for five 767s. Ostrower is one of the best sleuths at figuring out which airlines have ordered what planes. He's determined that the five recent orders for the 787 and five cancellations for the 767 were not a simple customer swap. The report, published by Flight International on Flightglobal.com, contains more details. Background on 787 types: The 787-3 is designed to carry up to 330 passengers on shorter routes of less than 3,050 nautical miles, whereas the smaller 787-8 carries at most 250 passengers on routes between 7,650 and 8,200 nautical miles, and the 787-9 carries at most 290 passengers on slightly longer routes up to 8,500 nautical miles. The list price of the 787-3 starts at $150 million. The http://blog.seattlepi.com/aerospace/archives/170976.asp?from=blog_last3 -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 114.40.79.152
