787 supplier Senior adds to first-flight pessimism

A Boeing supplier has warned that the 787 may not fly for
another six months.
Mark Rollins, CEO of Senior, a multinational component manufacturer
based in the UK that is furnishing air ducts and other parts
for the Dreamliner, told Bloomberg News this week that
"we estimate another six-month delay" to first flight and that
Boeing's "credibility is somewhat in question."
英國某航太元件商的資深 CEO 向知名財經媒體 Bloomberg News 表示，
「我想，第一次試飛大概還要再六個月吧」「波音的信用多少會受到質疑」
The manufacturer has promised an update on the fix required to
bolster the upper wing join area and its impact on the 787's
flight and production schedule before the end of the quarter.
Engineers have told The Seattle Times that the flight could be
pushed back to 2010.
這家製造商已經承諾在這一季結束前，針對「支撐上翼接合點」的修正和
生產計畫提出 schedule update，
該區域的強度問題，正是影響 787 何時能飛的關鍵。

"We have phenomenally good relations with them and
usually have the inside track, but they've generally gone quiet
for everybody on the 787, so we're reliant on their public statements,"
Rollins added. He told the Financial Times that
"industry experts don't believe them."
