阿(聯)酋A380曼城首航降落時重飛並導致後續24小時延誤

Emirates faced a technical issue with its A380-300 at Manchester Airport on
Tuesday, it has been reported.

According to a report in Aviation Herald, the incident occurred when the
superjumbo arrived on flight EK-17 from Dubai and touched down hard on runway
05R, prompting the crew to go-around.

The aircraft landed safely around13 minutes later, but was unable to depart
for its scheduled return flight EK-18 on Sep 6th and left Manchester the
following day with a delay of 24 hours.

A passenger reported that the approach had been very bumpy, stated the
report. The airplane touched down on its main gear very hard, the crew
subsequently initiated the go-around without lowering the nose gear. The
captain explained they went around because of the strong easterly gusting
winds.

“Our A380 flight from Dubai to Manchester encountered a strong gust of wind
on approach to Manchester today, and the aircraft captain elected to
discontinue the landing and performed a routine climb away from the runway.
The aircraft’s wheels did briefly touch down on the runway before the
aircraft climbed, after which it circled and landed perfectly normally. This
manoeuvre is entirely routine," an Emirates spokesperson confirmed to
ArabianSupplyChain.com. "The safety of our passengers and crew is paramount
and will not be compromised."

Emirates hosted a variety of celebrations at Manchester airport in the UK
earlier this month to honour the landing of its first Airbus A380 service to
the city.

Manchester 大概是所有A380航點中人口最少的, 連台灣的五都都排不上.
